Can the challenges to inclusion be fixed by informed leadership?

Every crisis creates winners and losers. Here came the covid wave and many

succumbed to it, either physically or financially. The economic disparity in this

country is on one of the highest levels. Its more than ever and even farther from

being fixed. Some people can’t find enough to eat and survive whereas there are

some who’ve earned more than ever and are literally showering in money right now.

So, Are the government’s actions going to make everything right? Can it alone make

inclusive cities where everyone has their equitable share as deserved being a

citizen? It’s a tough question to ponder upon already and even more cumbersome

today.

To be able to make “Inclusive cities” is a very large idea which starts with the

government doing something for people and having a transparent and good

governance in place. But if today with all the policies and interventions they have

already proposed and are constantly proposing for the betterment of the poor and to

stabilize the rich, can it really be better without people getting involved in the

process? I don’t think that’s quite possible.

There needs to be a healthy share of educated people and philanthropists working

towards the basic share of the people in need. Everyone in the city who came here

looking for a job, even a menial one deserves a right to education, housing, and

quality of life. The often-ignored labourers were seen as a very important part of the

whole system when they were unavailable after the covid lockdowns got over.

People understood their never-ending importance in running the country but as soon

as the economy picked up, they were forgotten again. Is this what they deserve? No.

There needs to be a specific, unbiased, and humane team working to make these

people feel valued and provide them the fundamental rights.

We seldom ask ourselves that why are the foreigners so great in their systems? How

are they so ahead? We should rather ask that as a system can we be more equitable

in how we pay and keep these people of the society who are under a certain class

and status? Should the rich be advised to do something more for the society? Is it

fair for the people who do so much for us get only false hopes in return? How long

will the government and the people of our country understand to help each other and

be more cautious?

Its time for high level thinkers like Planners, managers architects and Visionaries to

be a part of the system. The people who spend large amount of their lives

understanding how the people can be inspired and worked around shall be a part of

the system. Not only politicians who understand politics alone but educated people

who understand the city and the people shall be the voice of them. Its high time!
